Forbes has done the survey of top nine drugs which cost more than $200, 000 on yearly basis.

Solorin is basically an antibody agent that is used to cure a rare blood disorder called paraxysymal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). This disease is common among Americans. Statistics show that almost eight thousand Americans are afflicted by this disease every year. This disease destroys red blood cells in a matter of one night. Soliris sale in 2013 was $295 million. Alexion claims that since they have started selling the drug, the stock price has gone as high as 130%. It is sold at $409,500 a year.

Another drug among the world’s most expensive drugs is Idursulface. The brand name of the drug is Elaprase manufactured by Shite. The drug is used for the cure of Hunter syndrome. This disease may cause infections, brain damage and breathing issues. Hunter’s syndrome is a rare metabolic disorder that afflicted 500 American citizens only. The domestic sale of Elaprase was #353 million last year. The total earning per year from the sale of Elaprase is $375,000making it second most expensive drug.

This drug is basically C1-inhibitor; its main function is to prevent spontaneous multiplication or activation. It flows in the blood at a level of 0.25 g/L. Deficiency of C1-inhibitor causes excessive swelling because of fluidleakage from blood vessels to the connective tissues. The sale of this drug increased from $95 million last to $350 million this year.

Nest to Cinryze in the list is Myozyme i.e. alglucosudase alpha used to prevent Pompe disease, also called glycogen storage diseade type II. Pope disease is a metabolic disorder that causes damage to cells and muscles of whole body. . The manufacturer of this drug is Genzyme.  According to Forbes magazine, Myozyme is the fifth most expensive drug with the total annual cost of $300,000. Next to Nyozyme is Arcalyst. Arcalyst is also manufactured by Genzyme with the total annual cost of $250,000. This drug is used for cryopyrinassociated periodic syndromes which are related to mutations in gene.
