Rik Mayall played the title role which was an imaginary friend of Elizabeth played by Phoebe Cates. The movie was a favorite of teenagers at that time though the plot was reasonably foolish. Perhaps it was Ms. Cates that glued people to the screen.

Weekend at Bernie’s is an American black comedy released in 1989 which was directed by Ted Kotcheff. Andrew McCarthy and Jonathan Silverman starred in the movie. Even this loveable duo could not cover up the fact that the film simply has no script at all. Infact one begins to wonder who gave it the green light. The plot is stupid and unrealistic. However, the film was still fun and in my teens I used to enjoy it every time.
