An Empire is a great region in which a number of states are controlled by a single power, the persons living in an empire can pass their lives according to their own culture and society. The top ten largest empires of the world in history can be selected on the basis of power, size and duration of time, they exist. It is also important that the empire‘s ruling authority is some emperor/a royal leader (monarch). The present day formal empires do not come under this category, i.e. Soviet Union, the USA, etc. The followings are the top ten largest empires in history:

Roman Empire was originally controlled by the Divine Emperors, later it transformed to democracy. It was their splendid achievement that a few farmers who were engaged in the withstanding of wolves as a security and no sooner did they get the largest empire. It remained in rule for more than two thousand years. Their forces and admin staff was exemplary.
